Haigh, legendary British composer having worked extensively with Nurse With Wound and also as Moving Shadow pioneer Omni Trio has now settled in to his new guise as something of an environment composer. Unseen Worlds once again presents a near-perfect set from Haigh, but whereas From The Deep explored a subterranean sense of movement, Black Sarabande examines and illustrates the coal-mining villages of South Yorkshire from Haigh's youth. Forlorn piano hooks that wouldn't be out of place on a Satie compilation are densely folded into electronic pads, washes and noise drone. Stranger On The Lake recalls some of Nick Caves more recent piano and vocal convention even. This record is a triumph of emotive, almost cinematic performance, worth your money and your ear!
