August 28th sees the return of our quarterly event MOVEMENT. This instalment is being held at Platform 5 in Ashford, Kent, and is once again, free entry with both live music and DJ's. Our aim is to consistently bring the very best in punk, hardcore, electronica, noise and avant-garde to East Kent.

Cosmic Thoughts

Based in the south-eastern small towns of Canterbury, Folkestone, Ashford and Hastings, Cosmic Thoughts have been plugging away in one form or another for close to 8 years now. Exploring different avenues of post-punk, post rock and avant-garde pop. Their eponymous debut LP released by Hot Salvation in collaboration with Cult Culture and DLPR saw them play shows with Fear Of Men, Sauna Youth, Blood Sport, Xaviers, Enablers, Good Throb, Soft Walls, Chain Of Flowers and more.

CT create music that treads a line between monotonous, hypnotic mid-pace psychedelia and taut, restrained and sparse post punk.

Sievehead came to our attention through our ongoing admiration for the Sheffield punk scene. Made up of members of Dry Heaves, Skiplickers and Fastpoint, Sievehead have garnered huge amounts of interest from their demo tape and subsequent 7" out on Kids Of The Lughole. We preordered a bunch soon as it was announced and have been shouting and waving their wares in peoples faces ever since. Like a weird amalgamtion of The Wedding Present and Killing Joke, with a bit of Dag Nasty thrown in the EP is one of the most vital things to have come out this year, and we literally can't wait for the LP on Milk Run Recs.

Bad Manifest

Trashy, weirdo hardcore from North Yorkshire. Fans of the current slew of Katorga Works and Static Shock style punk and hardcore bands will fully get.

Ricky Laing, AKA RERL creates effervescent, bright and deep electronica. Recordings and media to follow.

DJ sets come from Folkestone's very own BRASSICA and Voyager Sessions.
